The Fix: Protecting the Structure While Solving the Problem
1. Waterproofing Without Compromise
- We jackhammered a trench several inches off the wall‑floor joint to avoid weakening the monolithic slab.
- We installed our perforated drainage pipe and gravel, tying it directly into the sump pump to carry water safely out to daylight.
- Then we applied DryTrak along the wall‑floor joint, positioned in front of our weep holes so every drop of water is captured and expelled.
This system keeps the foundation strong while keeping the basement dry.
2. Radon Sealed Out for Good
With the water issue under control, we addressed the radon problem at its source. We applied three inches of closed‑cell spray foam across the crawl space floor and sealed the rim joist—creating a continuous, airtight barrier that prevents radon from entering the home.
